In Distant Era Cosplay Studio Portraiture Sessions at Gen Con, fantastical photographer Steven Townshend makes fine-art-style character portraits of your beautiful cosplays. These are twenty-minute sessions for participants to have your cosplay portraits made with studio lighting and backgrounds at a special convention rate.

Gen Con Special ($95)
Twenty-minute individual sessions are $95 and include one full, detailed retouch of your character portrait, as well as a selection of additional edited images from the session, delivered digitally in the weeks following the convention. Book as many sessions as you wish for additional looks over the course of the convention.
Deluxe Options
The Gen Con Special will be right for most subjects, however we offer deluxe options for those who desire them. These options can be selected and purchased after the convention.
Additional detailed retouches +$50/each
The full, detailed retouch is a more time consuming deep dive into the portrait, which may include skin retouching, color grading, special effects, and other shiny, beautiful things or crazy Photoshop wizardry short of a full background replacement (composite). See the Gen Con portraits on this page for examples of full, detailed character portrait retouches.
* All the images you receive will be edited. Choose additional detailed retouches if you'd like to add extra kick, polish, or special effects to any of your regular edits.
Matted artwork (+$125)
Matted artwork is a gallery quality print of your portrait on HD fine art paper and white or black mat, ready for framing. These artworks are edited for color accuracy, printed and assembled in Italy, and shipped to you free of charge within the continental United States. All matted artwork includes full, detailed retouching.
The print is 7 x 10, and the mat is 11 x 14.
In addition, you receive print rights at this size.
Composites (+$300)
A composite places your character in another environment, includes effects, and a number of other elements. This is a collaboration we discuss to create the details and environment around your character. All composites receive detailed retouching and editing.
A composite includes a matted artwork shipped to you (as above), and print rights.
Giant-sized artwork (+$600)
This is a BIG gallery quality matted artwork at 16 x 24 or 16 x 20, depending on your portrait's aspect ratio, made in Italy, shipped to an address within the continental US, and ready to frame and hang. It includes print rights to this size as well. All giant-sized artworks receive full, detailed retouching.
